Day Care to Destitute Elders

In today’s busy world, you will find very old and destitute people begging or simply wandering around.

I saw one old lady begging in our project village. I enquired about her from some of our project beneficiaries. They said she is around 75 years and have only one son. He is married and has 3 children. Because of his poor family condition, he is not able to look after his mother. He is illiterate and do casual labor work, which is not a regular revenue generating work. In fact, he is not able to feed and educate his children too

In this back ground, he left this village migrated to some other village, where he can get regular work. Now she is alone in her small home and looking for someone for food.

CHHASE made a survey and found many such people in 2012 in our project area. As an initial initiative, we selected 20 old women for mid-day meal program. But now, it has increased to 32 elder’s in our day centre at Kannur for which we seek your assistance for providing food without difficulty.

When a poor and destitute old person is provided at least one meal in a day, she has a chance to face the challenges of her hard life.  such elders who need help. Under this program, with our meager resources, we provide nutritious midday meals to 32 poor old people in Kannur village, tiruvallur district, Tamil nadu every day.

We work in rural remote villages, Very few know about our program. Once in a while, some peoplel come forward to celebrate their children’s birthdays, wedding anniversaries or occasions with these destitute old persons by arranging special meals, or distributing stuff like clothes.
